Tan Thanh Loi: A Success Story
Established in 2004 without comparative edge in aquatic product processing but with correct and intensive investment and after three years of operation, Tan Thanh Loi Co., Ltd Long An has recorded unexpected achievements and famous brands in European and American markets.
Tan Thanh Loi Company is specialized in processing and exporting aquatic products, especially frozen aquatic products to such markets as: America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The export items include shrimp, squid, fish, crab, and oyster. The company has been granted certificates Code DL 353 to Europe and HACCP to America, two important upmarkets. In 2005, the export turnover was US$3.2 million with 1,235 tonnes. In 2006, they were respectively US$5.85 million and 2,425 tonnes, and so far in 2007 are US$6 million and 2,500 tonnes. In 2006, the company was entitled “Prestigious Exporter” by Ministry of Trade.
In its development, the company has always given high priority to the quality, ensuring stable supply of high quality materials. It has also maintained a competitive price in the conditions of fierce competition in domestic market. Those factors have guaranteed the reputation of the company especially regarding traditional customers.
The products of American and European standards have secured the company of unique and perfect quality, the most important factor of success since its establishment.
Tan Thanh Loi has established business linkage with Tan Phu Tai (Binh Dinh) specializing in food processing in Central Vietnam and Saigon-Mekong (Tra Vinh) processing 100 tonnes of Basa fish a day. The linkage has ensured the company of diversified products and higher competitiveness. The company has also developed the raising to make a full-circle production such as Basa fish in Dong Thap and Tra Vinh and will raise other kinds in the future.
Mr Le Thanh Hong, Director of the company said: “Our goal is to diversify the products and develop a complete production line from raising, processing and exporting of various items from various parts of the country. However, the company is still with limited resources, especially financial. We welcome the cooperation of investors and businesses to develop the raising, producing of animal feed and processing of aquatic products, especially Basa fish, to make a full production line. We hope that such cooperation is forthcoming”.
